The Word REHOBOTH has been taken from Genesis 26:22 where it says that
“ And he removed from thence,
and dug another well, and for that, they strove not: and he called the name of it Rehoboth; and he
said, For now, the LORD hath made room for us, and we shall be fruitful in the land.” This passage
refers to Isaac the Bible character the son of Abraham the Patriarch, who dug a well and God had His
favour upon him.”
The meaning of the name ‘Rehoboth’ has three-fold blessings:
The idea of Rehoboth being unconquerable or victorious comes from the fact that when Isaac dug the well the Philistines did not quarrel was because Isaac had God on his side, which made it impossible for the enemy to fight him. In Romans 8:31 Paul says What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? Again in the same chapter, Paul says in verse 37 that Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. The victory that Jesus accomplished on the cross enables us to leads us into a triumphal procession. Jesus said in Matthew 16:18 that I will build my Church and the gates of Hell will not prevail. When we are in fellowship with Christ we are more than conquerors for we participate in the victory Christ accomplished. So REHOBOTH is a place of the unquestionable dominion of Christ in all areas.
Isaac said God has given us a place, before God made mankind He made the Heaven and earth to place man in it. The man was not floating in the atmosphere there was a definite physical place where God placed Adam. The place is a critical element in the fulfilment of God’s plan in our lives, the reason being to function without a place is just impossible as it speaks of the dominion of God on this earth.
Isaac said we will be fruitful in the land, when are connected to Christ we shall be fruitful. Jesus is the true vine when we are connected to the vine as branches we become fruit-bearing.
THE KEY TO THESE THREE-FOLD BLESSINGS IS BEING A HOUSE OF PRAYER.
Jesus said My House shall be called the House of Prayer for All Nations, we strive to develop a culture of prayer as our core value to all that God will do in and through us. Prayer is talking to God, which means God of the Bible through His son Lord Jesus Christ. Bible says we are the temple of the living God, He dwells in us. Prayer is that channel of communication line that makes us a House of Prayer. Prayer for all humanity to know the Saving knowledge of Lord Jesus Christ.
1. We believe the Bible is the written revelation of God, the 66 books constituting the plenary, verbally inspired words of God, and inerrant. The Bible is to be received as God’s word to man – the only infallible rule of faith and practice – which performs its work in those who believe. (Galatians 1:12; 2 Peter 1:20-21; 2 Timothy 3:16; John 17:17; 1 Thessalonians 2:13)
2. We believe in the one true living God, Who eternally exists in three separate Persons: the Father, the Son - Jesus, and the Holy Spirit. These three are One in essence, co-equal, and deserving of the same worship and obedience. (Deuteronomy 6:4; Isaiah 45:5-7; Matthew 28:19; 2 Corinthians 13:14)
3. We believe in God the Father, Who orders and disposes of all things according to His purpose and grace. He saves from sin all who come to Him through Jesus Christ, and He relates Himself to His own as ‘Father.’ (Philippians 2:13; John 14:6; Romans 8:15)
4. We believe in God the Son, Jesus Christ. He was virgin born, God incarnates, His Divine nature uniting with humanity into an indivisible oneness. He is without sin, and He accomplished our redemption through His death on the cross. He was bodily resurrected from the grave and ascended back into heaven. He is our Lord, our Mediator, and Advocate. (Isaiah 7:14; Matthew 1:25; 1 Timothy 2:5; 1 John 3:5; Colossians 2:14; 1 Corinthians 15:3-4)
5. We believe in God the Holy Spirit. He is eternal, and co-equal with the Father and the Son, and is One with them. His work is to execute divine will within relation to man: convicting the world of sin, righteousness and judgment, glorifying the Lord Jesus Christ, and conforming believers into Christlikeness. (Psalms 139:7-10; Matthew 28:19; John 16:7-15; Romans 8:29)
6. We believe that God directly and immediately created man in His image and likeness, free from sin, with rationality, intelligence, and moral responsibility to Him. The man was created to glorify God, enjoy His fellowship, live his life in the will of God and thus accomplish His purpose for man in the world. (Genesis 1:26-30, 2:1-2; Isaiah 43:7; 1 John 1:3b; Romans 8:28-30; Ephesians 2:10)
7. We believe that in Adam’s sin of disobedience to the revealed will of God, he lost his innocence, incurred the penalty of physical and spiritual death, and became subject to the wrath of God. He became inherently corrupt, utterly incapable of choosing or doing that which is acceptable to God apart from Divine Grace. Adam’s sin has been transmitted or imputed to all men of all ages (Jesus the exception), and all men are thus sinners by nature and by choice. (Genesis 2-3; Jeremiah 17:9-10; Romans 5:12, 3:23)
8. We believe that salvation is the whole of God by Grace, through the redemptive work of Jesus Christ, the merit of His shed blood, and it is not based on human merit or works. All who believe in Him, trusting in His finished work, are forgiven of their sins, imputed with Christ’s righteousness and set apart unto God. (Ephesians 2:8-9; Titus 3:5; Colossians 1:19-23; John 3:16, 10:29)
9. We believe in the two commandments by our Lord Jesus Christ, First is the Water baptism by immersion, in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit, we believe with absolute faith that believer’s baptism is by immersion only, and is a testimony of the believer showing forth in solemn and beautiful emblem, our faith in the crucified, buried and risen Savior, and our union with Him through death to sin and resurrection to a new life. It is also a sign of fellowship and identification with the visible body of Christ. Second is the Holy Communion consisting of the elements of bread and the fruit of the wine, is a memorial of His sufferings and death and a prophecy of His second coming, and will be enjoined by all believers, "until He comes". (Luke 22:17-20; 1 Corinthians 10:16,17; 11:23-32)
10. We believe in the baptism of the Holy Spirit, which is a separate experience and is evidenced by the initial sign of speaking with other tongues as the Spirit gives utterances and by the subsequent manifestation of the gifts and fruit of the Spirit. (Luke 24:49, Acts 1:4-6; 1:8; 2:4; 2:38; 10:44-46; 11:14-16; 15:7-9; 19:2-6; 1 Corinthians 12:1-31)
11. We believe in the inward evidence of salvation, new birth, justification and sanctification to the believer is the direct witness of the Spirit, and the outward evidence to all men is a life of progressive sanctification and holiness shown by separation from sin and walking in the newness of life. (Romans 8:16; 12:1-2)
12. We believe in divine healing from sickness is provided for in the atonement and is the privilege of all believers, and the anointing of the sick with oil for healing and the laying on of hands. (Isaiah 53:4; Matthew 8: 16-17; Mark 16:18-20; James 5:14-16)
13. We believe that Church is the body of Christ, and consists of the people who, have accepted Lord Jesus Christ as their saviour based on the gift of salvation through the substitutionary death of His son Jesus Christ. The mission of the Church is to seek and save the lost, and edify the body of Christ.
14. We believe in scripturally ordained leadership ministry to evangelise the world and edify and build the body of Christ.
15. We believe in the pre-millennial second coming of Jesus Christ, the resurrection of those who are asleep in Christ, and the rapture of those who are alive and remain in the coming of the Lord, is imminent and is the blessed hope of the Church. (Romans 8:23; 1 Corinthians 15:51-52; 1 Thessalonians 4:16-18; Titus 2:13)
16. We believe in the Second coming of Christ to the earth and occupy the throne of David (Matthew 25:31, Luke 1:31-33, Acts 1:10-11, 2:29-30), and establish His Messianic Kingdom for one thousand years on earth (Revelation 20:1-7). During this time, the resurrected saints will reign with Him over Israel and all the nations of the earth and there will be national salvation of Israel and universal peace.
17. We believe in a final judgment on the devil and his angel, the beast and the false prophet, and whosoever is not found written in the Book of Life will be cast into everlasting punishment into the lake that is burning with fire and brimstone. (Revelation 19:20; 20:10-15)
18. We believe in His promise and look for new heavens and a new earth wherein the righteous will dwell. (2 Peter 3:13; Revelation 21:1)
